NY Post Writer in Hot Seat over Racial Brooklyn Nets Comment
Well it’s apparent that Jay Z can’t possibly LIVE! Last week the Brooklyn Nets
unveiled their new jersey and team colors as their new stadium the Barclay Center
in Brooklyn is almost at completion. A fabulous feat with Jay Z as a backer and
marketer of the team. Phil Mushnick, a veteran sports writer for the New York
Post and long time critic of Jay Z’s involvement with the Nets team had cute racial
commentary that may have his ass in the hot seat.
Mushnick went on to say:
As long as the Nets are allowing Jay-Z to call their marketing shots –
what a shock that he chose black and white as the new team colors to
stress, as the Nets explained, their new “urban” home — why not have
him apply the full Jay-Z treatment?
Why the Brooklyn Nets when they can be the New York N——s?
The cheerleaders could be the Brooklyn B—-hes or Hoes. Team logo?
A 9 mm with hollow-tip shell casings strewn beneath. Wanna be
Jay-Z hip? Then go all the way!
To think we live in 2012, where we have a black president and we are above it.
However we’re not, Jay Z can’t live, he can’t be a drug dealer, turned rapper,
turned multi-millonaire, mogul ranking in business deals and endeavors, even
covering Forbes with Warren Buffet. Nope just a n-gga and critics will always
blast his past, instead of what he has achieved here now and in the future.
The media as well as twitter has been in uproar since Mushnick’s comments.
Maybe Mushnick felt as though his vet status over at the Post wouldn’t hinder
or make a sprinkle, but guess what everyone is watching in the tech age.
So I assume The New York Post should be issuing his pink slip in 5 4 3 2…
Justice for Trayvon
I am shot and killed in a residential neighborhood. My cell phone is on me and my friend is on the phone, and I am found to have been carrying only a bag of candy and a drink. 911 calls from neighbors record my screams for help, in the moments before my death. No one uses my cell phone to locate my family. No one canvass the neighborhood to see if someone there knows me. I am a John Doe in the morgue for three days. But, my body is tested for drugs and alcohol. My killer is not tested for anything. My killer is questioned and released, and he is still free today. I am Trayvon Martin, and We are better than this.
Listening to all the speculations of why and how, is the death of Trayvon Martin race
related or was it self defense? The ending balance of this case is that a 17 year old boy
is dead. Killed for reasons beyond the hoodie he wore that fateful evening, beyond his
brown skin, beyond the skittles and ice tea he had purchased from the store on his walk
home. How could a simple walk to the store become so tragic? The Stand Your ground
element allows secrecy right now in the Trayvon Martin case. A grown man, George
Zimmerman is walking around freely after taking his job far too seriously.
We’re not here to be the judge, but justice needs to be served to the Martin Family, civil
case impending, rallies, prayer meetings are being attended and petitions need to be
continously signed. The out cry for justice is a sight to see, wearing our hoodies, and
even the million-hoodie rallies from New York, Washington D.C. to Rockford, Illinois.
Just like the Troy Davis case, we can’t wait too long as a nation to try to end the
injustice ruled out. However Florida’s ‘Stand Your Ground” law needs a turn around.
To the most dense individual it is clear that this young man could not have been a
threat in any way to George Zimmerman, not to mention Zimmerman being told to
leave well enough alone but chose to play God. The act of senselessness is evident
above all things and this is why an arrest should be made. Click the link to sign the
petition over at Change.org, follow the case and lets continue to educate ourselves
in these areas, this can be your son, your brother, your friend even your neighbor and
at the end of the day something has to give. Get involved.
Scope File: Spring Beauty Haul
Essie does it again with another fabulous Spring collection. This time

A mixture of pastels to bright, I usually like 2-3 colors at best but

for all skin tones from darker to light or red undertones and I love that there’s
something for everyone.
